Install your email signature in Apple Mail
Apple Mail handles HTML signatures well, but its signature editor has two famous quirks: a "match my default font" checkbox that destroys formatting, and a preview that does not always display remote images. This guide gets you through both.
First, copy your signature
- 1Open your personal signature link (shared by your administrator by email), or the Signatures section of the WeLink dashboard if you manage the organization.
- 2Click "Copy signature". The formatted signature is now in your clipboard.
Add it in Mail on macOS
- 1Open Mail → Settings (Cmd+,) → Signatures.
- 2In the left column, select the email account the signature belongs to.
- 3Click "+" to create a signature and give it a name (e.g. "WeLink").
- 4Important: uncheck "Always match my default message font" — leaving it checked overrides the signature's fonts and colors.
- 5Click into the right-hand editing pane, remove the placeholder text and paste (Cmd+V).
- 6Close the settings window — Mail saves automatically.
Created the signature under "All Signatures" instead of an account? Drag it from the middle column onto the account in the left column to assign it.
Set it as default and test
- 1Still in Settings → Signatures, use the "Choose Signature" dropdown at the bottom to select it for the account.
- 2Compose a new email: the signature should be inserted automatically.
- 3Send yourself a test message and open it — this is the reliable check.
The logo may appear as a placeholder or not at all inside the signature editor. That is a known Mail quirk: what matters is the received test email, where images load normally.
iPhone and iPad
Settings → Mail → Signature on iOS is designed for plain text, but it does keep formatting that arrives via the clipboard.
- 1Send yourself an email from a device where the signature is installed (or open your WeLink signature link in Safari and copy the signature).
- 2Select the whole signature in the received email and copy it.
- 3Go to Settings → Mail → Signature, select the right account, and paste.
- 4If iOS simplifies some styling, shake the device right after pasting and tap "Undo Change Attributes" to restore the original formatting.
Formatting still off? Delete the signature and paste again — editing inside the Mail editor tends to degrade the HTML further.
